Our title is "Worlds Worst....." So what we could do is fill in the gap with different people e.g. "Worlds Worst" firefighter, student or even parent. We're keen on the idea of having many different scenarios in one animated short. The video below is an animated short conveying this idea.

Briefing Ideas - Receiving the Orange Envelope
In today's briefing from Alan, our studio was given an orange letter. Inside the letter was some 'information' to inspire us with our comedy skit ideas. After the briefing, our studio wrote down a few ideas we have regarding the information from our letter. The letter we received said: "World's worst..." with 'Secret Agent', 'Speed Dating', and 'Builder' as three examples to inspire us. These are our own ideas:
World's Worst:
- Witch
- King
- Princess
- Bus Driver
- Superhero
- Teacher
- Parents
- Babysitter
- Ghost
- Firefighter
- Toothfairy
- Taxi Driver
- Voice Actor
- Scientist
- Friend
- Actor
- TV Host
- Magician
- World Leaders
- News Presenter
- Con Artist
- Writer/Creator
- Security Guard
- Student
- Documentary
- Painter
We discussed which ideas we liked and we all seemed to gravitate towards ideas that involved real-life situations e.g Speed dating, Parents, News Presenter. We also discussed looking at stories from different perspectives, for example: 'World's Worst Parents' could be a short film from a child's perspective that thinks that their parents are the evilest people in the world because they have the audacity to tell him he can't eat ice-cream 10 minutes before bedtime. 'World's Worst Speed Date' could be a short film looking from two different perspectives; A woman wishing that this disaster of a date would just be over and done with, meanwhile, the man opposite her thinks he's absolutely killing it. Our next move is to assign roles and also start finding inspiration that links into the theme of perspective and comedy.

When the words 'Cosmic' and 'Orchid' emerged, it immediately set a potential basis for graphical design. One with an emphasis on colour, and simplicity.
My contribution to the logos attempted to merge the two together, with colours being 'eyedropped' from existing space images (courtesy of Nasa's site), in Photoshop, and parts of the orchid (the roots, overlapping leaves, etc.) quickly integrating itself into the lettering.
However, after a group discussion, it became clearer that this may be too obscure for the viewer to pick up on. Therefore, I'm revisiting the designs to make clearer links to the orchid, and to experiment with a stronger 'pastel' aesthetic.

As a group we wanted our studio name to be more personal. We did this by discussing our likes and interests. From this information we found two words that appealed to us: "Cosmic" and "Orchid." By adding Studios on the end we eventually came up with "Cosmic Orchid Studios." Although the words don't relate to each other we thought it made our name more unique and interesting.
