Experiments in Photoshop: 

Next stage is to:
> Experiment with proportions
> Stylise/exaggerate a little more (using 1960's fashion design illustrations as reference [*]).
> Figure out logo
> Decide on defining assets of design (cape, glasses, boots, etc.)
> Create bystander characters
> Include optional designs with no capes (for ease of Maya animation).
